Jive-In Theatre: Get inside your video
An immersive audiovisual environment, designed by Cindi Drennan and featuring the AV mash ups of the Light Pirates with guest DJs.
First presented as an expermental film event during the Port Augusta Film Festival 2008, Jive-In Theatre will again appear in 2009 with new material.
The Light Pirates is an audiovisual act, taking old film material and giving it a new twist through re-editing and real time special effects.
The earlier part of Jive-In Theatre is a twisted cut up documentary and film, of content that may be familiar but has been taken to a point of bare recognition.
Part of the Jive-In Theatre event is improvised to dance music, so that the audience are completely surrounded by a very exciting environment of colour and sound.
The entire environment is created by the use of layered synchronised projection, onto several screen sculptures which surround the audience and divide the space into sections.
