Illuminart : Travelling Light was a series of mobile audiovisual projections around the streets of Marrickville.
The project was produced by Cindi Drennan (projection artist and digital media specialist) during Summer 2003 and Spring 2004, presenting the work and ideas of artists from Marrickville in NSW Australia in urban environments using mobile self powered projectors.
Transforming train station exits, alley ways and shop walls into temporary art spaces... Local residents and commuters discovered their drab urban environment painted with light, creative images, sounds and music by local artists.
Illuminart: Travelling Light was all about creating a new kind of after-dark event: - to offer mobile audiovisual playtime for artists, and to surprise residents with a beautiful spectacle in their street!
