Illuminart: Travelling Light was a series of mobile audiovisual projections, in the streets of Marrickville during Summer 2004 and Spring 2005.

The project was devised and produced by Cindi Drennan, a multimedia producer and projection artist then living in Marrickville. The project was supported by the Marrickville Council Arts Grant Scheme.

Illuminart was the name of a previous event held in 2003 at Petersham Town Hall, showcasing the work of over 40 Marrickville artists in an immersive projected environment. Cindi Drennan had beinvited to propose a concept involving audiovisual projection, to enliven the annual Arts Night, to celebrate the contribution of local artists living and working in Marrickville. The concept she developed was an immersive light and image collage, transforming the walls of the beautiful art deco hall with slide projections and video projections. These were mapped to the wall to create a mosiac of architectural treatments and a kaleidescope of local artists' work. A special feature of the night was a 40 minute presentation that showcased and celebrated the work and achievements of many local artists.

Following this event, Cindi devised a new concept that could take artists work to the public, through a series of mobile projections that could light up dull and dark urban spaces at night. Artists' work could be seen outside of the gallery context, and they would have the opportunity to see their work in a new light, projected three metres high or larger. People living in the area would be surprised by art in their environment, encouraging a deeper appreciation of the environment, the area, and local artists.

This new concept was also called Illuminart (as it was an evolution of the previous event) and subtitled Travelling Light.

Illuminart Travelling Light took place over many months beginning in Summer of 2004 and concluding in late Spring 2005. The early stages involved putting a call out to identify contributors and artists who would be interested in participating or collaborating, and sites in Marrickville suitable to present the work in. The final event was held at Stone Villa in Marrickville, with a barbecue, and gathering of the many contributing artists, friends, and interested people from the community.

In 2007 after a long period of living in Sydney NSW to establish her arts practice, Cindi Drennan returned to her home state of South Australia to be with family. In late 2007 she established her current arts business practice Illuminart Productions Pty Ltd. The name Illuminart was selected as many people already knew Cindi's work in association with her public art projects in Marrickville NSW, and from her ideas of fusing the creative arts and digital medi, with the enlivening and illuminating of public spaces.

In 2009 Cindi began working outside her home state of South Australia again, to develop new work incorporating projection art, site specific projection and performance events, and fusion of light, art and multimedia.
